Radka Přichystalová from VŠB-TU Ostrava introduced RiskMan project, its approach and objectives at the international seminar of the Forum Prävention on the 21st May in Vienna.
The project partner AUVA (Allgemeine Unfallversicherungsanstalt - the Austrian Workers' Compensation Board) organises prevention congress “Forum Prävention” annually. This year the Forum took place in the renown “Hofburg” in Vienna from 20th to 23rd May.
The congress was attended by more than one thousand participants and the international seminar by almost hundred persons. The three chosen topics for the seminar were: “Risk Assessment”, “Industrialization” and “Innovative methods of knowledge transfer”. The RiskMan project was presented in the session “Innovative methods”. The contribution called „The innovative approach within the education of HSE professionals“ aimed at development of relevant and high-quality competences of future HSE professionals in the area of risk management. The set of innovative teaching methods and tools (e.g. case studies and best practices examples, online risk assessment tools, safety games – table games and virtual reality games) that will be developed in the project will pay special attention to bring close-to-real-world scenarios to the students and to active engagement of students. The project answers the current needs of competency development of HSE professionals that are required by the labour market and industry such as the competencies in risk management, including analytical and critical thinking, flexibility, decision making in the face of uncertainty and complexity, acting within a multidisciplinary and intercultural context.
